Hello, is there anyone on here interested in being my weight loss support buddy? I am overweight and lack motivation when it comes to binge eating and just want some accountability.

Hi Lori, I think I can understand a little of where you are coming from. I too have epilepsy, an autoimmune disease which has destroyed my thyroid, diabetes and major depression. They are conditions that I have come to accept and live with but it still is not easy. Good luck and God bless.

Yes, the cortisone will do that to the blood sugars. I have to take it occasionally when the RA gets real bad to help with the swelling so I can move. I hate when I have to take it because it means taking more insulin even though I'm not eating anything more. I would prefer having to take more insulin because I had something that I wasn't supposed to have and had to take a little more insulin to cover that.

Lucky I believe it is because ones sensetivety to insilin in the morning is normaly low so I found to overcome the highs in the morning is to increase the insulin you are injecting slightly or ajust your pump sensitinity down if you are on a pump

Yes it is difficult to grasp epilepsy , as in my own case I have been living with type 2 diab's for 15 years and have adapted to change in life style and keep the sugar controlled if that fails I will have to go on to insuline injections and that is concerning gymwork is my biggest help.

It sounds like you need to increase your insulin if your sugars are running high. I have type 1 diabetes and controll it with several insulins shots a day and diet. You might also want to get a sliding scale from your doctor this way when your sugars are high you can adjust how much insulin you take as that is what I do, depending on how my sugars are running and what you are planning on eating. I do this and my A1c is always excellent, my last one was 5.3 which is high for me as mine tend to...

What I do is call the airline up ahead of time and ask what the meals will be so I can plan ahead as far as my diet goes and usually ask for a low calorie, low fat diet if what they are serving isn't a good thing for me depending on how my sugars have been running.
